Motivational Monday & Update – 3/11/2013

Today I’ve decided to start a new little series of posts and just stop them when I run out of things to post. It’s called:

MOTIVATIONAL MONDAYS!

On Monday, I’m going to try to post a little image or video that gives me motivation to stay on this journey and hopefully it will help all of you. Today I found the following quote that I think is perfect for the beginning of my journey. It is so correct. To see changes down the road, we have to start making them today. NO MORE WAITING… just DOING. Whether it be exercise, eating right, or just starting some healthy habit (or giving up a bad habit) try and start one this week. Mine will be to get all my fluids in per day (64oz a day). You can track my fluid (and food) intake on my myFitnessPal food diary.

I also wanted to give you a little update. I actually did 2 videos because I forgot some stuff I wanted to talk about in the first video. 🙂

  1. Hey girl how r u feeling today? I went to my 1st seminar tonight. It went well and im thinking i may have changed my mind on which procedure! I going to try and get. Im thinking more on the lines of the bypass instead od sleeve.! Do u regret anything??

    • No. I do not regret it at all. I know the bypass was the best option for me because it is the most effective with fixing PCOS and diabetes (I have pre-diabetes). I also like that it is the most common WLS done in the US so it is relatively safe since it’s so wide practiced. And I’m hoping I get dumping syndrome to help keep me in line if I ever start to stray from my new healthy path.

Make a list of pros and cons for each surgery. And decide what you can and can’t live with. See which one is more beneficial to you. I changed my mind 2 times before settling on the RNY. I originally wanted the band, then read a bunch of stuff online and wanted the sleeve. After further research and talking to people and the surgeon, I decided the bypass was right for me. Read everything you can so you can make an informed decision! 🙂 Let me know if you have any questions.
