Do you know about Audible? If not, you really should!
A few years ago, a coworker of mine told me to try it out. At first I didn’t think I would like audio books. I thought they were only for old people or lazy people who didn’t want to read. Reluctantly I gave it a try. Now, almost 2 years out, I can say that I’m slightly in love with Audible. Audible is a website where you pay a monthly fee to be a member of. Then you get credits each month where you can buy a book or two (depending on your membership level). Then you can download the book onto any audio device (I use my Android phone and tablet… and sometimes my iPod) and listen to it. The books are yours to keep forever. They always have great sales and promotions.
How does it work?
You pay a monthly fee (it’s around $15 a month) and you can get one book a month. There are different levels of membership where you can get more book credits per month too. Then they always have sales where you can buy more books (which is what I do). Now I have so many and do not have the time to listen to them all. I listen to them on my commute to and from work, when I’m working out, when I’m cooking/cleaning, etc.
You should really try it out! You won’t be disappointed.
That being said, I just started this book called “Eragon: The Inheritance Cycle” and OMG! I love it. I also listened to all of the Song of Ice and Fire series (which is what the Game of Thrones show is based on). I’m a big nerd and LOVE the fantasy series but there are so many more. I’ve also listened to the Hunger Games series and the 50 Shades of Grey. Ladies (or even gentlemen, if you are listening to this too)… if you listen to this book, be careful when you are driving… there are some things that made me want to drive off the road. Very naughty. Lol. The young adult (YA) genre is another one of my favorites. But there are all types of books on there for people of all ages, education levels, and backgrounds.
If you try it out, or have it, let me know what you think… and if you have any book recommendations! 🙂
**NOTE: I do not have any affiliation with Audible and do not work for the company. I just really love using them and highly recommend them for anyone else out there who needs a little story-time in their lives. 🙂
This is how I felt most of this semester.
And now that it’s time to turn in my case study project, this is me.
Needless to say, there is no motivational Monday post today since the only thing I’m “motivated” to do is finish up this case study before it’s due this week. Eeek! 85 pages down… About 20 more to go. Agghhhhhhhhh!
I am really happy today. Don’t know why but thought I’d share! 🙂
I just feel like things are going great in my life. School will be over soon (less than a month til graduation), AMEN! Weight loss is going pretty darn good. I was cleared to exercise so it’s going to keep going great, I just know it. The weather is starting to warm up a little, though I cannot wait for mid to high 70’s or low 80’s. I’m a summer girl and can’t wait to break out the shorts and flip-flops.
I have great family, great friends, and amazing support system (online and off). I feel like cranking up some music and singing my heart out… though that might make people’s ears bleed. Lol.
I am thankful for everything! 🙂
Sorry I haven’t been around much this week. I’ve been going through a lot of personal things and haven’t really been in the mood to write.
On Friday, my boyfriend (Nick) and I broke up. It was the right thing to do and I feel it was an amicable break up but this was one of the hardest things to do. I do not want to discuss the reasons of our break up on here because I believe that is a personal matter but I did want you all to know what is going on and why I’ve been so quiet.
Nick used to read all my blog posts. I’m not sure if he still will or not but Nick, if you are reading this now, I wanted to tell you something.
You are the sweetest guy I have ever known. You helped me believe in love again after all my previous, bad relationships. You made me believe that guys do have feelings too… something I was sure didn’t exist after my past. I’ve learned that I can trust people again because of you. You are kind, loving, loyal, funny, and have a big heart. All the people around you (your family, friends, and co-workers) adore you, even if you do not see it. I am happy for the time we had together because you really did make a difference in my life. Thank you so much for always being there and supporting me. I hope you have a wonderful future, full of all the happiness you deserve. You are a really good guy.
Warning… This is OFF TOPIC (OT) and a RANT about malfunctioning technology.
Ok. So something you don’t know about me. I am a web designer for the government. I really enjoy what I do and would love to keep on learning everything I can about it. Throughout the 5 years I’ve been doing this job, I have come to be biased against different web browsers.
For instance… I LOVE Firefox! I’ve been using it for years and almost never have a problem with it. I have found that I HATE Internet Explorer (aka IE, no matter what version it is). It is the quirkiest browser and never displays web pages properly. I wish a comet would come and wipe out all Internet Explorer browsers to become extinct like dinosaurs. Please tell me why Firefox AND Google Chrome work almost all the time and display things consistently? Ugh.
At work we have been having a MASSIVE volume of issues with IE displaying web pages incorrectly and now it seems to be following me home. NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! I wanted to see if the alignment of an image in my last post was correct on all browsers that I have (Firefox, Google Chrome, and Internet Explorer) and found a whole mess of crap wrong in IE.
Dear Internet Explorer,
I truly hate you. Please go jump off a cliff or get sucked into a black hole, never to be seen or heard from again.
