Week 4: Post Op

Good morning fellow bloggers and readers! 🙂 Today is my 4 week post-op weigh in. As you know, I’ve been “stalling” in a way and losing really slowly, in my opinion. But I do have a loss to report today which is good. I think I need to up my protein higher than what my nutritionist told me to get out of this stall so that’s my plan for this week to see if it helps. I lost 2 lbs this week. 🙂 I cannot wait until I’m cleared to go work out at the gym so I can really kick start the loss in a whole new way.

On a super happy note, one of my best friends in the world is having her baby today or tomorrow. They induced her labor. I can’t wait. So, if I have time tonight, I will make a video but if not, it will be tomorrow and will be posted on this post.

On my one month surgaversary, I will be doing update pictures. I’ve decided that’s how I’m going to celebrate my monthly surgaversary. So on the 6th of every month, you all will see those update pictures of me. 🙂

Highest Weight (Jan 3, 2013): 251.6 lbs

Day of Surgery (Mar 6, 2013): 231.5 lbs

Four Weeks Post-Op (Apr 3, 2013): 216.2 lbs

Total loss of: 35.4 lbs

Update on the baby situation: Sarah didn’t have her baby. They stopped the inducing process and sent her home since her BP went down. So it could be anytime between now and within the next 2 weeks. I’m going to stay excited the whole time. 🙂

2 Weeks Post-Op

Hi everyone! Today is my 2 week surgaversary! I wanted to do a weigh-in update and an overview video of what it’s been like since surgery and what was the surgery process/hospital stay like.

Let’s start with the weigh in!

Highest Weight (Jan 3, 2013): 251.6 lbs

Day of Surgery (Mar 6, 2013): 231.5 lbs

Two Weeks Post-Op (Mar 20, 2013): 220.7 lbs

Eek! That means I’m down 10.8 since surgery and 30.9 lbs total. I was really hoping I’d be out of the 220’s before today but that’s ok. I know I will be for next week’s weigh-in. I’m hoping for a 5 lb loss this week. Cross your fingers for me! I need to stay on top of water, protein, and walking because that seems to be the 3 main triggers to moving the scale.

Motivational Monday & Update – 3/11/2013

Today I’ve decided to start a new little series of posts and just stop them when I run out of things to post. It’s called:

MOTIVATIONAL MONDAYS!

On Monday, I’m going to try to post a little image or video that gives me motivation to stay on this journey and hopefully it will help all of you. Today I found the following quote that I think is perfect for the beginning of my journey. It is so correct. To see changes down the road, we have to start making them today. NO MORE WAITING… just DOING. Whether it be exercise, eating right, or just starting some healthy habit (or giving up a bad habit) try and start one this week. Mine will be to get all my fluids in per day (64oz a day). You can track my fluid (and food) intake on my myFitnessPal food diary.

Playing the Waiting Game… & an update!

Ok… so this part sucks.

Last week I finished all my prerequisites for surgery: finished my psych eval, met the surgeon, and got a sonogram of my gallbladder. The psychologist just submitted her report today and I called to see if they sent it off to insurance yet. Becky, my insurance coordinator said that she is submitting it today and that I should call next Tuesday to see if it’s gone through yet. OMG OMG OMG!!! That’s not even a week away and she thinks it will be back by then. I’m going to explode from excitement. Now it’s time to play the Waiting Game.
